Welch Allyn manufactures thermometers and other
medical equipment for front line patient care. Their products are
sold worldwide, and used by clinical staff that are pressed for
time in every patient interaction.
Successful implementation of their products requires
the development of User Guides and a variety of training media,
from videos to Computer Based Training.
Multi Media Approach
The User Guide we developed for Welch Allyn's
new thermometer was translated into 9 languages. The Guide was
heavy on illustrations, and light on copy.
The video we developed was translated into the
same nine languages - French, Italian, German, Spanish, Danish,
Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, and simplified Chinese.
Finally, we developed Computer Based
Training that was translated into French, German and Spanish. In each case,
our translators focused on the idioms and other requirements of
the target markets.
E-Learning
The Computer Based Training program we developed
to meet the clinical training requirements for Welch Allyn's new
product line was translated into French, German and Spanish. It
is modular, allowing learners to select the information they need,
and to return to it for refresher training on specific procedures
and settings. The CBT includes Self-Checks that test their understanding,
and provide correct answers when they miss any of the items.
