Gen-Probe - Diagnostic Biotechnology

Situation

Gen-Probe is a pioneer in the application of genetic assays for diagnosing diseases using blood and other test media. Their systems are responsible for protecting our nation's blood supply from HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, and other types of infections. Their DNA based tests are also used to test for other types of diseases in large patient populations.

FDA Approved Documentation

Gen-Probe's internal department did not have the resources needed to support the development of their new Tigris System, a large volume testing device designed for Blood Bank and other large site applications. Their existing materials were trapped in an out-of-step desktop publishing package, and had to be converted to a more universal platform before they could be updated.

We developed several series of User Guides for the Tigris and other product lines, designing and implementing a new and more open page layout that could be applied to their existing and future documentation development. The strict FDA-controlled environment of their business required a high level of QA and attention to detail.
