Sony Corporation - Home EntertainmentSituation Sony Corporation is a world leader in the design and manufacture of television and other home entertainment systems. Many of their products are manufactured in the United States and marketed worldwide, requiring translation of their User Guides into both European and Asian languages. User Guides We wrote and developed several series of User Guides for Sony televisions. For one series, a relatively low-cost model, we were able to convert a 32 page booklet into an innovative 12 panel foldout. Costs were reduced by over 80%, and usability was improved over the previous version. This series was translated into 6 European languages - and our translation was singled out as "the best they had ever had", requiring almost no corrections after in-country review. We developed user guides for other manuals in Sony's line over the course of this two-year project, translating them into Hungol (Korea), Mandarin, and other Asian and European languages.
