Situation

International ServiSystems (ISS) is the world's largest service organization. They have been aggressive acquirers of other service companies, and now operate in more than 50 types of service businesses in almost 100 countries.

Strategic Planning Training

Having acquired so many companies, ISS had a monumental task of integrating them into "the Danish Way", an approach to management that asked newly acquired businesses to adapt, not adopt the ways of the corporate owners. This approach, which combined the best of the local company's experience with the proven methods of the Danish parent, had proven effective in more than 25 acquisitions.

Each year, ISS brought the top0 level management of each subsidiary to a worldwide planning meeting, at which they would set the goals and strategies for the next 12 months. We worked with our Danish affiliate, Uddannelseshuset (House of Training) to develop a combined video and workshop format to set the direction for the meeting, and for the planning activities that each subsidiary would complete after the meeting.
