When we build a workshop, we develop
all the materials your trainers or field staff will need
to
present it.
Instructor Guide
This is the trainer's cookbook. It
contains all the step-by-step directions they will need
to present the material - what to say, when to say it, what
to show, what questions to ask, and more.
The Instructor Guide makes sure that
the basic core of information is presented wherever and whenever
the course is run - but it also leaves room for the instructor
to add their individual flavor and approach to the core
material.
Workbook
The Workbook is the student's resource
during class and after they return to work. It typically
includes outline notes, important readings, and thumbnails
of course visuals.
In
many cases, when we are training on a technical product that
is supported by extensive documentation, we make the use
of the actual documentation a priority in the workshop. In
those
cases, the documentation itself will be the Workbook. After
all,
if they remember how to use the manual after they leave the
class, you will have gone a long way towards reducing your
support
costs.
Media
Media brings things to
life. We use electronic presentations, video, activities, and
demonstrations to help reach your students on many different
levels.
Job Aids
Job Aids are cheat sheets,
Quick Reference Guides, and other tools to help trainees practice
and reinforce new skills back on the job.
Evaluation and Certification
Evaluation is the key to measuring
the effectiveness of your training program. If the trainees
can't demonstrate that they have mastered the material, you
won't know if they can use the new information back in the
field.
Evaluation, whether by test or demonstration,
is also the best way to identify ways to improve your training
for
future sessions.
Certification to specific standards
is a more stringent way to evaluate your trainees' efforts,
and to ensure that they can competently and consistently
complete
the trained
activities back on the job.
